We wanted to take a minute and recognize Cathy Hall Andrasek as one of our Sonny’s BBQ To The Rescue Social Media Rock Stars!

Cathy is on the Sonny’s Team and is always interactive with our BBQ To The Rescue Facebook Page. She shares our posts and really shows that Sonny’s BBQ Love that we are so thankful for…So we wanted to take a few minutes yesterday to let her know how special she is to our team!

Thank you Cathy and thank you for sharing all the great things our team is doing for our communities.

BBQ Supports Those Who Give Back!

There is nothing we love more than sharing our support with those who give back to our community. This past Friday, 10/10/2014 we participated in the Boley House Dedication at Sunset Apartments for the opening celebration of their newest HUD 811 project.

These fourteen units of permanent supported housing are for individuals who have mental disabilities and very low income and were funded through the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and the City of Clearwater. In attendance was the US Congressman David Jolly and Clearwater Mayor George Cretekos.

We then visited the American Red Cross to show our support of their efforts in keeping high risk homes safe from fires. They were giving away free smoke detectors…what an awesome way of showing their support to local families to ensure that their smoke detectors are in working condition!

Recognition Feels Good…

Here at BBQ To The Rescue we do what we do because it’s the right thing to do! We believe in helping our community and letting those who show up every day and make a difference, that we appreciate them. Plain and simple.

So when we get recognized for our part in helping the community…it feels really good. Not only does it feel good for us, but it lets our staff know that our efforts in making a difference and paying it forward are what it’s all about.

We got this letter from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and we wanted to share it with you; not just with our fans but with our staff at the Sonny’s BBQ in Palm Harbor, Largo, and New Port Richey locations. Because this letter is to our staff – it’s to those folks who help us make BBQ To The Rescue a reality!

We are proud of all our family at Sonny’s and the help they give us on the truck so we can make these Random Acts of BBQ a reality!

BBQ To The Rescue Supports Local Cancer Fundraiser!

Sherri Strazz and her husband Robert love life and she is fighting this battle in the same fashion!

BBQ To The Rescue was created for this very purpose…to help those in our community in need. We recently heard of a local woman fighting for her life. Sherri Strazz is a commercial realtor here in our community. What started out as pulled muscle in her leg area turned out to be a cancerous tumor the size of a football. She recently underwent a 9-hour surgery to remove the mass and has a long road of recovery and treatment ahead of her.

To help Sherri communicate and keep her mind active through this process her friends created a Team Sherri Strazz Facebook page where she communicates with her friends, family, and even people she has never met who come out and support her with encouragement likes and positive thoughts. We have seen what a community of support can do for someone who is battling cancer like Sherri and we wanted to help.

When we were contacted by Team Sherri we immediately knew that this was the passion behind our cause…helping Sherri and her family in a time when they need to focus on getting her better. So her Team has created a Pirate ExtravaganzaEvent for her and BBQ To The Rescue will be there helping support her cause! We’re told that Sherri loves anything Pirate and Gasperilla is her favorite time here in Tampa Bay.

We wanted to post a few different pics of the finished truck and we would love to know what you think! Share your comments on our Facebook page or even here under our blog post! We are so excited to get this truck out in the community, but we have a few test runs to get through first before we head out to an event!

It’s Ready! The Truck Is Ready!

We are so excited that the Truck is ready! Can you believe it? It has been a few long months for all of us here at BBQ to the Rescue, but today, seeing the truck and all the hard work that has been put in to it…well let’s just say it was well worth the wait!

So tell us what you think! The graphics are flaming hot and so is our desire to get this truck out on the road in our community. We have some test runs to do before we can get started, but we feel confident that we will be ready to start serving up those in need real soon!

The truck is ready and so are we…we will keep you posted!

The Truck is Coming Together…

That’s right…the truck is coming together and we are so excited to get this show on the road. The truck is 100% finished from a construction standpoint and now it is time to get started on wrapping the truck.

As you know BBQ To The Rescue is all about helping our communities here in the Palm Harbor, Largo, and New Port Richey. We wanted a way to give back to the same communities who have supported us over the years. The BBQ To The Rescue Truck was our way of getting out into the community and supporting those very same people.

We appreciate your support and excitement as we push forward with this special project! We chatted with the ‘Follow The Truck’ team last week and we were able to sneak some pictures to share with you you all! Here is just a peak of what the graphics will look like…

We love that Sonny’s logo with the PitMasters Brand and the flames…reminds me of that smell of BBQ when you walk into one of our restaurants! YUM! And now for a few pictures of the truck!

Look at that awesome grill located in the back of the truck with the drop down sides we created for ease in serving!

Look At The TRUCK!

That’s right folks, the BBQ To The Rescue Catering Truck is getting its final touches and we couldn’t be more excited!

Pretty soon this bad boy will be out working in the community and we are so proud. This ‘Smoker On Wheels’ will be making its preview at our stores shortly. We will keep you posted of our kick off dates and special events we have planned.

So It Begins…

BBQ To The Rescue is starting to take shape. It is exciting to watch this not for profit unfold right before our eyes. The passion behind the cause is creating energy and action.

So as we finish up our logos, build our web page, social media pages and all those pieces that spread the word about our cause…we want to thank you – our community for giving us the opportunity to be able to do this special project.
