Putting Others First!
Sonny’s Random Acts of BBQ and BBQ to the Rescue said thanks to the four 10 yr old Safety Patrol Children who helped save 27 of there classmates when there school bus overturned into a lake on Sept 18, 2015.
The School is Mary Bryant Elementary and the Principal is Karen Bass. The Hillsborough County School Superintendent Jeff Eakins came out to participate and so did school board member Susan Valdez along with other administration officials to say thanks to the kids.
Each child recieved a hand stiched back pack and other small gifts. One child was unable to attend to after the photos were taken but did come to the event. Nice to see such young adults living the Sonny’s value of “Putting others First”. We asked the Lightning Bug to join in the celebrations and the kids were thrilled to have him. Great Families, Great School and a Great School Administration.

Palm Harbor United Methodist Church – Operation Christmas Child
The BBQ To The Rescue Truck was filled with delicious Sonny’s Bar B Q to feed the good people at United Methodist Church.
Almost 200 volunteers met at Palm Harbor United Methodist Church to build almost 1,000 gift boxes for children in need. Sonny’s BBQ was proud to help our dear friends for such a worthy cause.
Every fall the congregation of Palm Harbor United Methodist Church fills shoeboxes for Samaritans Purse – “Operation Christmas Child” to provide gifts to needy children around the world who have never received a gift before.
The boxes are filled with school supplies, hygiene items, candy, 2 toys and a stuffed animal. The shoe boxes will go to children in 150 countries around the world. Last year Palm Harbor Methodist packed a record 2,796 shoeboxes and Samaritans Pursue collected over ten million shoeboxes.

We wanted to share a Sonny’s BBQ Random Acts of BBQ event we did at the Palm Harbor Store on 05/31/2015. Here is a little intro for the amazing woman we came out to support!
“My mother Sue Gaddy started her own organization feeding the homeless and donating clothes to them once a month and uses her own money to fund it and she does not have a lot of money herself but will still fund the price of the food, picking up donations with my help and a few others in the family. She will donate money, food and clothes to the homeless and does not ask anyone for anything just does it out of the goodness of her own heart and has even taken the socks off of her own feet.”

The Sonny’s Team preparing to head out on the road for their first Random Acts of BBQ. Here are Lisa, Tara, and Reuben preparing the food and getting the truck loaded! And Eddie and Steve packing and organizing the truck.
Our first stop was the Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Palm Harbor. We were advised that they were full and there were a lot of families to feed. We fed over 70- people and still needed more! So we ran back to the Palm Harbor store and made more meals and delivered them to those who didn’t get food the first time around. It was overwhelming to be able to support the families who were there with loved ones and even more special to support those who work at Hospice to take care of those in need.
Our next was Station 65 Palm Harbor Fire Rescue! What a great group of guys and gals! It was great to feed them lunch today and get to hang out at the fire house with them. These guys are incredible and we wanted them to know how much we appreciate what they do for our community!
Our last stop of the day was at OneBlood in Palm Harbor…we dropped off some meals to the staff to let them know we appreciate having them in our community!
